Starting in 2026, the new AIKCU Alumni Hall of Fame will recognize distinguished graduates of our 18 member institutions.

 

From the earliest days of the commonwealth, independent institutions of higher learning have been preparing leaders in Kentucky. That rich history is alive today, as AIKCU member colleges and universities graduate students who contribute to their communities and the world.

 

For nearly 250 years, alumni from these institutions have excelled in their chosen fields, bringing passion, intellect, and influence to their work as educators, ministers, doctors, lawyers, business leaders, elected officials, and more.

The AIKCU Hall of Fame will spotlight those who have embraced the liberal arts and enriched society across a wide range of professions.

 

Selection Criteria

Each AIKCU member institution may nominate one living alumna/alumnus annually who:

 

• Has earned any academic or professional degree from the institution (excluding honorary degrees).

• Possesses the utmost character and integrity and exemplifies the values and mission of the institution.

• Has made a significant contribution to humanity through service, work, leadership, or other achievement
  (and may consider any challenges a nominee has overcome to succeed). 

• May or may not have already been recognized by the nominating institution for their life and work.

• Nominees will be considered regardless of race, gender, or religion.

 

And, importantly, this recognition should not be based solely on the prestige of a nominee's position, but on the quality and impact of his or her professional accomplishments.

Nomination Process

The nomination deadline is Friday, July 17, 2026. To submit a nomination online, the nominating institution should provide the following:

 

• Complete nomination form.

• Provide a Statement of Nomination (500-word maximum).

• Provide a bio (350-word maximum) and headshot of the nominee.
