Public Policy

AIKCU generally supports public policies that:

  • Protect and increase student aid funding
  • Reward the cost-effective role non-profit independent colleges play
  • Encourage utilization of capacity in the private sector
  • Create partnerships for efficient, effective and accountable use of funds
  • Recognize the overall quality of higher education is enhanced when private colleges succeed

AIKCU works closely with Kentucky’s Council on Postsecondary Education, the General Assembly, and other government and policy groups to communicate and enhance the ways independent institutions are helping Kentucky achieve its postsecondary goals as outlined in CPE’s Revised Public Agenda (http://www.cpe.ky.gov/) .
