Chad Crouch
Asbury College ‘93
Co-Founder and President
Cre8tive Group
Wilmore, Kentucky
Chad Crouch co-founded Cre8tive Group with a friend in 1995 as a video and animation production firm. Over time it evolved into a full service marketing communications company, incorporating web development, identity building, and print communications. Today, Cre8tive Group employs ten people in their Wilmore office (many of whom are Asbury alumni). They have evolved into a mission-driven “cause communicator” whose business model calls for working with only eight clients at a time who are “socially aware, ethically responsible businesses.”
Chad credits his experience at Asbury for his success, and he’s dedicated to helping future generations of Asbury students enjoy the opportunity that an independent higher education provides. He stays involved in his alma mater - offering his professional services, lecturing in media classes, and sharing equipment with the college. Each year Cre8tive Group offers internship opportunities to four Asbury students. But internships are not enough. Seeing a greater need, Chad and Cre8tive Group established a scholarship for media communication students in 2005.
Why he supports his alma mater:
I had the opportunity to receive a solid spiritual foundation, liberal arts education and the practical skills that have enabled me to become who I am today. I want to ensure that future Asbury College students have the same opportunity I did-to become culture shapers and changers.
On the value of internships:
The students are able to learn on the job and gain experience to help them determine if this is what they want to do. We get the benefit of having quality students involved and working on our projects. It’s been a great relationship.
Why his company funds a scholarship:
I know that the students who interned here were well-prepared educationally. And we believe in the message that the communications department sends-that Asbury College is poised to graduate students who are empowered to positively change culture.
