Campbellsville University is a comprehensive Christian university located in the heartland region of South Central Kentucky. Dr. Michael V. Carter, now in his ninth year as president, is providing strong leadership as the institution enters its second century. With a commitment to academic excellence, Campbellsville University provides undergraduate majors in 38 academic and nine masters’ level degrees.
Founded in 1906, Campbellsville University is affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention and has an enrollment of 2,310 students who represent 100 Kentucky counties, 32 states and 28 foreign nations. Listed in U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” 15 consecutive years, CU was listed 22nd in the “Best Baccalaureate Colleges” this fall.
The institution has a strong emphasis on community service and Christian missions in the community, region and world. An innovative program for incoming freshmen, called FIRST CLASS, was instituted during the 2005-2006 academic year with an emphasis on character development, servant leadership and stewardship.
With a student faculty ratio of 13 to 1 and with 66% of the full-time faculty holding terminal degrees in their respective academic fields, Campbellsville University’s students receive a world-class education in a positive and challenging environment. More than 90% of CU students receive financial aid.
