Chart: Very few pay sticker price at Kentucky private colleges

Chart: AIKCU published costs and financial aid

When it comes to college costs, the published tuition and fees is just one part of the equation. Students shouldn’t automatically rule out a school based on the “sticker price.” At AIKCU institutions, like most nonprofit private colleges, there are very few students who pay this sticker price.

According to data collected from the NCES Integrated Postsecondary Data System (IPEDS), 86% of all AIKCU students and 99% of first-time, full-time students receive financial aid. And 96% of first-time, full-time students receive financial aid from the institutions themselves (through grants, scholarships, and tuition discounts), with an average institutional aid award of nearly $13,000.
