Jim Newberry, vice president and general counsel at Georgetown College and former mayor of Lexington, has announced that he will be joining the law firm Steptoe & Johnson PLLC’s Lexington office in February 2014. In addition to his duties as general counsel and as a member of the executive cabinet, Newberry has overseen Georgetown’s development office since late 2012, during the transition period from the presidency of Dr. Bill Crouch to current president Dr. Dwaine Greene.

Mayor Newberry has been a valuable asset to Georgetown College and to all of AIKCU. We appreciate his service on behalf of private colleges and wish him well in this next phase of his career.
