EPA Compliance for Colleges and Universities Workshop: November 13

October 29th, 2007

AIKCU, in partnership with the Kentucky School Boards Association (KSBA), is pleased to offer a no-cost, one day workshop focusing on EPA compliance issues for AIKCU member campuses. “Environmental Compliance for Colleges and Universities” will be held on November 13, 2007, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the Kentucky Broadcasters Association office (next to the AIKCU office). Lunch will be provided.

Staff from the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection will lead the workshop. They will explain the EPA’s Region 4 Compliance Initiative and cover a number of other environmental compliance topics, including:

  • Air Quality Requirements – permitting; asbestos regulations
  • Water Requirements – MS-4; stormwater; pre-treatment
  • Waste Management Requirements – hazardous waste; universal waste
  • Environmental Management Planning
  • Environmental Leadership

AIKCU member staff will gain valuable knowledge about how to ensure compliance with current EPA regulations, mitigate fines, and ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste. They will leave better equipped to assess EPA compliance on campus and with knowledge to proactively address areas of concern. Again, there is no cost to AIKCU member campuses for this valuable training.

AIKCU member staff should RSVP to marsha@mail.aikcu.org by November 7 to participate.
